Company History


James and Evelyn Babcock founded
James Babcock Inc.,
headquartered in
Indianapolis, in 1955.
James
continued to play a very
active role in the
company until his
passing in 1992.
Dave Babcock -
President
Dave Babcock joined JBI
as a full-time employee
in 1962. Dave currently
serves as the company's
President and is an
active member of the
Indianapolis community.
Dave volunteers as a
Deputy Fire Marshall in
the Fire Prevention
Bureau of the
Indianapolis Fire
Department. Dave
received his Master
Electrical License in
1965.
Ann Babcock -
Secretary and Treasurer
Ann is responsible
for accounting and
finances at JBI. When
Ann is not working she
enjoys her grandchildren
and volunteering at
Community Hospital in
Indianapolis.

Bill Babcock - Vice
President Estimating
Bill is responsible for
all estimating of large,
small, private and
public projects for the
company. Using Accubid,
Bill is able to complete
bids and budgets quickly
and accurately. Bill
joined JBI full-time in
1986 and is a graduate
of the ABC Electrical
Journeyman Program. Bill
and
wife Margaret have two
children and Bill is a
member of the
Indianapolis Umpires
Association. Bill
received his Master
Electrical License in
1994.
Dan Babcock - Vice
President Operations
Dan in in charge of all
operations and project
management for JBI
including its project
managers,
superintendents and
electrical foremen. Dan
joined the company
full-time in 1989. Dan
and his wife, Betsy,
have four children and
Dan volunteers as a
member of the Scecina
Memorial High School
Board of Directors and
is also a member of the
Saint Simon Parish
Festival Committee. Dan
received his Master
Electrical License in
1993 and has completed
the Purdue University
BCM/ABC Electrical
Project Management
Course.
James Babcock Inc. is
proud of its employees

company. Ten percent of
JBI's employees have
been with the company
for over 40 years, 40%
for over 25 years, 55%
for over 15 years, and
65% for over 10 years.
