Details: Giant Eagle Market District is the first Giant Eagle store in the state of Indiana and is a Pittsburgh, PA based company founded in 1931. It is currently one of the largest distributors and food retailers in the nation. They wanted to support and build stores in locations that coexist in an environmentally responsive manner with the community it serves, being Carmel and greater Indianapolis. This innovative supermarket is a shopping, gathering, dining, and cooking destination. Giant Eagle will continue to provide hundreds of jobs with training to lead employees towards a prosperous career.
JBI was awarded the electrical and fire alarm systems for this new one hundred twenty thousand square foot building construction. The open floor plan not only created the perfect ambience for the market, but also created a visual challenge for the installation of the exposed electrical conduit. Along with the rigorous schedule, snow storms and subzero temperatures made it extremely difficult to get the underground and building enclosure completed in a timely manner.
