Client: Ivy Tech Community College
Project: Ivy Tech’s North Meridian Center
Details: Ivy Tech’s North Meridian Center Infrastructure Improvements project was aimed at updating 217,000 square feet of the Electrical and Mechanical infrastructure of a building whose origins dated back to 1931. Included in this were two 3,000 amp services and over 200 sub panels throughout the facility. During the first phase of this project JBI had the daunting task of removing the existing electrical service and reconnecting power to the building. Three separate crews of approximately 15 men each worked continuously for 72 hours in order to restore power for classes to resume without interruption. In addition to the infrastructure improvements, renovations to classrooms, the presidents wing, offices, and entrance were completed. New communications cabling, fire alarm, and access control were also installed by JBI.
